Thank you for conducting a fundraiser to support LuMind IDSC!

LuMind IDSC is grateful for the generosity and support of people and organizations in the Down syndrome community.

A third-party fundraising event can be conducted by an individual, group, or organization in the community with proceeds benefiting LuMind IDSC. Anyone in the community can hold a fundraising event to support the work of LuMind IDSC. These fundraisers include everything from virtual events, live entertainment, at home parties, golf tournaments, and more!

Where should I send donations?

All donations not made via online should be sent to:

  • Make checks payable to LuMind IDSC.
  • Mail all proceeds to us within 30 days of completing your fundraiser.
  • In the check memo [write “my321” your name and fundraiser name]
  • Please DO NOT send cash in the mail.
  • All donations made online will receive a confirmation email which can be used as a tax receipt.

Event Planning

Before you begin planning, please note these key steps:

  • Check with your town/ state to obtain any required permits as well as certificate of insurance for your event.
  • We suggest holding fundraisers with minimal cost to you.
  • You are responsible for covering your event expenses and will not be reimbursed for any out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Your expenses should not exceed 30% of funds raised.
  • If you think you will need to deduct any expenses from the funds raised prior to sending your donation check, email devt@lumindidsc.org regarding the deduction.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
Please abide by local and state health guidelines. This includes but is not limited to efforts associated with social distancing, mask-wearing, hand hygiene as well as other measures deemed appropriate to help stop the spread of the virus.

Using and promoting the LuMind IDSC Brand

  • To request the use of our logo(s), email Dev@LuMindIDSC.org
  • Prior to any distribution of event promotional items, please allow us to review your materials.
  • LuMind IDSC may only be identified as your event’s beneficiary.
  • If there are multiple beneficiaries for your fundraiser, clearly state the percentage or amount of proceeds that benefit LuMind IDSC.
  • To ensure you are not soliciting a donation or in-kind donations that we have already requested, please contact us.
